FEMA Independent Study Courses
Incident Command System (ICS) Training
The following ICS courses are required for all members. The links below will direct you to the FEMA web site overview page for the course.
Follow the links on the right side of the page to take the course and then take the final exam on-line. Further instructions are available on the overview pages.
You will need a SID. If you do not know what this is CLICK HERE to obtain a FEMA SID
Use your FEMA SID to register to take the online courses. CLICK HERE for a list of available courses.
On the upper right under "Take this Course" click on the link "Interactive Web Based Course"
Complete the online course then when ready under "Take the Final Exam" click on the link "Take final exam online"
At the end of the exam, you will be informed if you passed or failed
If you passed. a certificate will be emailed to the address used when registering for the SID
Once a course and a certificate has been received please forward the certificate email to WQNR751@aol.com.
We will store all your certificate in your personnel file.
IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100
Course Overview:
ICS 100, Introduction to the Incident Command System, introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. This course describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. It also explains the relationship between ICS and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

IS-200.C: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, ICS 200
Course Overview:
ICS 200 is designed to enable personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event within the Incident Command System (ICS). ICS-200 provides training on and resources for personnel who are likely to assume a supervisory position within the ICS.

IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
Course Overview:
This course introduces and overviews the National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS provides a consistent nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and nongovernmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents.

IS-800.D: National Response Framework, An Introduction
Course Overview:
The course introduces participants to the concepts and principles of the National Response Framework.
